Player Pathway: Goals & Benefits

The ultimate Go2 Player Pathway for girls travel lacrosse provides a structured progression that supports athletes at every stage of their development. This pathway ensures that players receive the appropriate level of training, competition, and opportunities to grow their skills while fostering a love for the game.

Players enter into the level that is right for them and or available at their specific regional location. Players can move between levels year to year depending on their development.

Recreational Lacrosse

Foundation & Fun

GOALS

  • Introduce players to the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun, inclusive environment.
  • Build basic skills, game awareness, and teamwork.
  • Foster a love for the sport while encouraging participation and growth.

BENEFITS

  • Low-pressure environment to develop skills and confidence.
  • Emphasis on enjoyment, learning, and making friends.
  • Opportunity to explore the game before committing to competitive play.

SPRING

Players in CLT and CAR will play with the NCRLA. Players in other regional locations should play with a local recreational program.

Mini Club

Foundational & Fun, Shortened Travel Club Schedule. Please check your specific Regional Location for program availability.

GOALS

  • Introduce players to the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun, inclusive environment, with a focus on high-level coaching.
  • Build basic to intermediate skills, game awareness, and teamwork.
  • Provide a competitive, local, travel environment with a less demanding tournament schedule

BENEFITS 

  • Provide a travel lacrosse experience that has a shortened tournament schedule
  • Increase exposure to competitive play while maintaining a fun atmosphere.
  • Emphasis on continuing to offer playing opportunities a step up from recreation lacrosse, but not yet full travel lacrosse

Sept - Oct | 8x Practices minimum on the weekend, 6x 4SQUARE Training Sessions during the week

WINTER

SPRING 

All Youth Athletes are encouraged to participate in their local recreation programs. Players in CLT and CAR will play with the NCRLA.

SUMMER

May - Jun | 6x Practices Minimum during the week

June | 2 Tournaments on the weekend

*Our Middle School Select teams will play in 2 Summer tournaments. We aim to have these teams done by the time school lets out so our players and families can enjoy a full summer of vacation and or rest.

Select Teams

Advanced Training, Regional and National Competition, Players who will play in NCAA Programs Across All Divisions

GOALS

  • Provide a travel lacrosse experience with a focus on high level skill development.
  • Increase exposure to competitive play while maintaining a fun atmosphere.
  • Teach team concepts, positional play, and lacrosse IQ.

BENEFITS

  • Stronger coaching and training in a more structured setting.
  • First experience with travel lacrosse, preparing players for higher competition levels.
  • Emphasis on player growth while maintaining balanced competition.

Accelerated Collegiate Training, Regional, National Competition, Players who will play in Top 50 NCAA Programs Across All Divisions

GOALS

  • Elevate players technical skills, athleticism, and lacrosse IQ.
  • Compete at a higher level in regional and national tournaments and showcases.
  • Prepare players for high school lacrosse and potential collegiate recruitment.

BENEFITS

  • Increased training intensity with specialized coaching.
  • Exposure to a higher level of competition, pushing players to improve.
  • Strong focus on leadership, teamwork, and personal development.

High-Level Competition & College Preparation, Players who will play in Top NCAA Programs Across All Divisions

GOALS

  • Develop top-tier athletes for national competition and college lacrosse.
  • Provide exposure to college recruiters through elite tournaments and showcases.
  • Refine skills, strategy, and mental toughness to compete at the highest level.

  • Training from elite coaches with experience in college and professional lacrosse.
  • Opportunities for national recognition and college recruitment.
