Recruiting Philosophy

Each player’s recruiting journey is unique. Our aim is to find the right fit - social, academic, financial, and athletic - for every player in our program.

Comprehensive Recruiting Support

We offer a structured and personalized approach to college recruiting, ensuring every player has the resources they need to find the best fit academically, athletically, and personally. Our five key recruiting resources include:

Overall Guidance on the Recruiting Process

We educate players and families on the NCAA recruiting rules, timelines, and best practices for each graduation year.

  • Our staff provides insight into how to research schools, communicate with coaches, and build a standout recruiting profile.
  • We emphasize finding the right fit; balancing academics, athletics, and campus culture.
  • Players receive ongoing updates on recruiting trends, showcase opportunities, and new regulations.
  • Players work with recruiting directors to develop tailored event schedules to help them achieve their collegiate goals while being mindful of their family’s personal and financial needs.

TEAM RECRUITING MEETINGS

  • Held throughout the year to provide key insights and updates on the recruiting process.
  • Topics include how to email college coaches, highlight film creation, campus visits, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Guest speakers, including college coaches, current collegiate athletes, and recruiting experts, provide valuable firsthand knowledge.
  • Recorded and shared via our online Recruiting Library so families can access at any time.

Individual Recruiting Meetings

  • One-on-one meetings with our full-time recruiting coordinators to develop personalized recruiting plans.
  • Tailored guidance on target school lists, communication strategies, and next steps in the process.
  • Players receive feedback on their highlight videos and assistance in crafting impactful emails to college coaches.
  • Families are encouraged to participate to ensure a collaborative approach to the recruiting journey.

Detailed Player Evaluations & Feedback on Game Play

  • Each player receives in-depth evaluations from our coaching staff, providing an honest assessment of their strengths, areas for improvement, and potential fit at the collegiate level.
  • Feedback is based on game performance, practice habits, work ethic, and lacrosse IQ.
  • Players are given specific action plans to enhance their skills and positioning within the recruiting landscape.
  • Evaluations are updated throughout the year, ensuring players stay on track with their development goals.

Parent Testimonials

Parent

CLT 2026

It felt daunting to arrive at the point in time when our daughter was actively looking to be recruited. However, with the help of Katy O'Mara, Recruiting Director of Ultimate, we found the process remarkably smooth. Katy O'Mara is simply outstanding; she is supportive, available, professional, and knowledgeable. Katy spent a tremendous amount of time, first and foremost, seeking to understand our daughter's goals and desires and then appropriately looping in us/parents with the necessary information and steps to take. It felt like an honest, collaborative effort. Eventually, our daughter made a great D1 commitment, and we are thrilled for her but also deeply grateful to Katy O'Mara, who helped make our daughter's dream come true.

Mark Gentile

Parent of Cate Gentile (PA 2026 Commit to Virginia Tech)

A great recruiting coordinator must be knowledgeable of all college lacrosse programs, have connections to those programs, and be keenly aware of their own players' talents and limitations.  They must then use that knowledge and connections to honestly and consistently advise families as to where to concentrate their efforts and resources during the extremely short recruiting Summer before the player’s junior year.  Coach Maddie did all these things for Cate.  She consistently communicated with our family starting in January of Cate’s sophomore year and honestly advised us through the entire recruiting process.  This consistent and honest approach allowed Cate to receive a great offer from a program appropriate for her talents and potential.

Megan Walker

Parent of Annie & Elizabeth Walker (CC 2025 & 2026, players both going to Queens University)

ULTIMATE Lacrosse is extremely lucky to have Maddie as the Recruiting Director. Maddie was instrumental in both my daughter's (2025 and 2026) recruiting processes. From the onset, Maddie took time to listen to their needs and wants for their college experience. She was in tune to their personal journey and led them to choices that would be a potential fit for them. Her strong network in the lacrosse community was an added asset to connecting them with the coaching staff and teammates that would help them excel athletically and personally. Through close contact by way of phone calls and zoom meetings, Maddie gave them the confidence to lead their own communicating with coaches. Both of my daughters are committed to play Division I lacrosse in college. Maddie undoubtedly deserves many thanks from our family for guiding my girls to the perfect fit for them!

Heather Bergy

Parent of Taylor Bergy (CC 2025 committed to Tampa)

As a parent,  you love and want nothing but the best for your child, it is so nice when you have someone like Maddie that wants the same thing for them. Maddie was always available for a chat or zoom call when we had questions on recruiting and setting up meetings with potential future coaches. Going in blind, there were many times that we would even call Maddie in route to a visit and she would be happy and willing to walk us through it all. We can’t thank her enough for all her help in getting our daughter to a great school to play the sport she loves.
