It felt daunting to arrive at the point in time when our daughter was actively looking to be recruited. However, with the help of Katy O'Mara, Recruiting Director of Ultimate, we found the process remarkably smooth. Katy O'Mara is simply outstanding; she is supportive, available, professional, and knowledgeable. Katy spent a tremendous amount of time, first and foremost, seeking to understand our daughter's goals and desires and then appropriately looping in us/parents with the necessary information and steps to take. It felt like an honest, collaborative effort. Eventually, our daughter made a great D1 commitment, and we are thrilled for her but also deeply grateful to Katy O'Mara, who helped make our daughter's dream come true.

A great recruiting coordinator must be knowledgeable of all college lacrosse programs, have connections to those programs, and be keenly aware of their own players' talents and limitations.  They must then use that knowledge and connections to honestly and consistently advise families as to where to concentrate their efforts and resources during the extremely short recruiting Summer before the player’s junior year.  Coach Maddie did all these things for Cate.  She consistently communicated with our family starting in January of Cate’s sophomore year and honestly advised us through the entire recruiting process.  This consistent and honest approach allowed Cate to receive a great offer from a program appropriate for her talents and potential. 

ULTIMATE Lacrosse is extremely lucky to have Maddie as the Recruiting Director. Maddie was instrumental in both my daughter's (2025 and 2026) recruiting processes. From the onset, Maddie took time to listen to their needs and wants for their college experience. She was in tune to their personal journey and led them to choices that would be a potential fit for them. Her strong network in the lacrosse community was an added asset to connecting them with the coaching staff and teammates that would help them excel athletically and personally. Through close contact by way of phone calls and zoom meetings, Maddie gave them the confidence to lead their own communicating with coaches. Both of my daughters are committed to play Division I lacrosse in college. Maddie undoubtedly deserves many thanks from our family for guiding my girls to the perfect fit for them!

As a parent,  you love and want nothing but the best for your child, it is so nice when you have someone like Maddie that wants the same thing for them. Maddie was always available for a chat or zoom call when we had questions on recruiting and setting up meetings with potential future coaches. Going in blind, there were many times that we would even call Maddie in route to a visit and she would be happy and willing to walk us through it all. We can’t thank her enough for all her help in getting our daughter to a great school to play the sport she loves.
