OVERVIEW

Open to all girl lacrosse players, regardless of club affiliations, in Grades K-12.

To maintain a competitive level of play, players with less than one year of experience should register for the Cub Division
-
Players can sign up as a Team or an Individual (Teams must have a minimum of 8 players)
-
Individual registrants will be assigned to teams based on skill level.

Teams are separated into 4 divisions:

High School (grades 9-12)

Middle School (grades 6-8)
-
Youth (grades 3-5)
-
Juniors (grade K-2)

Cub (grades K-12) *Instruction only, no gameplay*

Games are played in a modified Sixes format on small-sided fields

6 field players +1 goalie

Goalie clears after every goal (except for Youth & Junior divisions)

All players play both sides of the midfield line

Teams play eight (8) games over four weekends. All games are played between 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. The exact schedule will be posted 1-2 weeks before the start of the season.

There are no formal team practices offered through the CPBL but teams are encouraged to get together mid-week and practice.

We reserve the right to add, combine, and modify age groups, skill divisions, game rules, team placement, etc.

If you're brand new to lacrosse, you should register for the Cub Division.
DIVISION RULES AND FORMAT

All games will be played in a modified Sixes format (6 field players + 1 goalie)

2, 16-minute running halves with 3 min half time. 5 minutes between games.

All players are midfield and there is no offsides.

Draws will be taken only at the start of each half. Goalie clear after goals.

On the draw:
-
Two midfielders from opposing teams will line up at the center marking to take the draw.
-
The second midfielder will line up in their defensive 8m.
-
All players will hold inside the 8m until possession is signaled (early entry enforced).
-

One, 1-minute Time-out per game per team, cannot be called in the last 5 minutes.
-
Games will be played on small-sided fields.
-
Full Checking - outside a 12-inch sphere surrounding the head.

Shooting space, three seconds and all other USA Lacrosse rules apply
-
8 Meter free positions will be played out for 3 seconds if foul occurs before time expires (at half or end of the game)
-
A central horn will start and end all games.
-
Coaches are permitted to call 1 stick check per game but not in the last 5 minutes.

Alternate possession – the team listed first on the schedule receives the first alternate possessions. After initial possession is awarded, the possession will then alternate.
