ULTIMATE NJ LACROSSE CLUB

Club Owner: Michele DeJuliis

Michele DeJuliis is the founder of The Ultimate Goal Lacrosse Club, establish in January 2001.

DeJuliis is an assistant coach with the Princeton women’s lacrosse program and has been with the program since the 2004-05 academic year. She serves as the offensive coordinator and also has primary responsibilities for skill development and team conditioning. In those short five years, DeJuliis has coached 12 All-America players and seen her players earn 10 Tewaaraton nominations or appearances on the Watch List.

DeJuliis was captain of the 2009 US Women’s World Cup team that won the 2009 FIL World Cup in Prague. She has been a member of U.S. National Team program since 1994, and was an alternate on the 2005 World Cup team.

DeJuliis honed her skills at Penn State University as a three-time All-America. She finished her career eighth on the school’s all-time scoring list with 142 goals and sixth with 203 points. She was an IWLCA first-team All-America in 1995, 1996 and 1997 and led the Nittany Lions to the semifinals of the 1995 NCAA Tournament. DeJuliis served as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater in 1998 while completing her degree in kinesiology.

A native of Baltimore, DeJuliis was inducted into the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2008. She also serves as the chair of the IWLCA’s Recruiting Education Committee and as a member of the Mid-Atlantic All-Region Committee.
 

NJ COACHES: Summer 2011

Shannon Hayes: West Chester University’s Midfielder led her 2010 team to NCAA Div II Championship game and was termed by CBS College Sports as the “difference-maker”. Hayes finished top 10 in assists in NCAA for 2010. Hayes’ vision of the field, finding the open player, is her strong suit.  She is the Ultimate competitor when on the field.

Courtney FarrellCourtney is currently an assistant coach at Cortland, while pursuing her masters in Sports Management. Prior to Cortland, Farrell served as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College and American University and worked several youth and high school camps at universities around the East. Farrell is a 2008 graduate of Cornell University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and Management. While at Cornell, Farrell was a four-year member of the Big Red women’s lacrosse team, earning All-Ivy and All-America honors, while a member of the U.S. Developmental team for two seasons. A 2004 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius, Farrell competed in lacrosse, soccer and indoor track and helped lead her lacrosse team to a state title as a senior.

Kelly NangleNangle is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Rutgers women’s lacrosse staff. Among her many responsibilities with the Scarlet Knights, Nangle assists in practice planning and game breakdown. She also handles game tape analysis as well as exchanging tapes with opponents. Charged with coaching the Rutgers defense, Nangle is also involved with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, including organizing official visits. Nangle, a 2006 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., has been involved in coaching since completing a stellar career as a defender on the Mountaineers women’s lacrosse team. She joined the staff as a volunteer coach from 2006 – 07. While on the sidelines at Mount St. Mary’s, Nangle worked specifically with the defense to help build a cohesive and strong unit. She was also involved with practice plans and recruiting. Competitively, Nangle was a four-time All-NEC selection for the Mountaineers, receiving First Team honors following her senior campaign. She finished her career second in ground balls (204), fourth in caused turnovers (116) and eighth in draw controls (65), and was selected to participate in the Division I North/South Senior All-Star Game. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Nangle spent a season with Mount St. Mary’s before being named the head coach of St. John’s Catholic Prep girl’s lacrosse team in 2007. She increased the squad’s win total by four from the previous season en route to mentoring two All-Conference and two All-County players. Nangle continues to coach on the club level and is heavily involved in skill clinics.

Megan Clements: Finishing my freshman year as an attack player for Rutgers University. Was a three year starter for Hopewell Valley Central High School. Named first team all county for all three years and two time Mercer County Player of the Year. As a team, two time Mercer County Champions and two time Group Two Sectional Champions.

Eileen Ghent: College:  Played for Rutgers University, majoring in Exercise Science & Sport Studies.  After freshman year I encountered a career ending knee injury.  I earned the position of student-assistant coach for the team.  My main responsibilities revolve around developing the goalies. High School:  Played varsity for three seasons after spending freshman year on the JV team at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School … high school team won four consecutive WCAC Championships … captain of the team her senior year … earned First Team All-League honors as a senior … picked Second Team All-League her junior campaign … participated in Under Armour Underclassmen All-Star game … two-time Academic All-American … played for M&D Lax Club in 2005 and  2006 

 Kelsey Palmer: Palmer started this year on defense, at the University of
Massachusetts, as a sophomore. UMass was 2011 A10 champions and earned
a trip to the NCAA Div.1 tournament this past season. Kelsey was a
four year starter for the Hillsborough High School lacrosse team as a
mid fielder.

Jessica FriederDartmouth Women’s Lacrosse recruit Class of 2015… Started all four years for Princeton Day School as the goalie… Played for Ultimate Goal Lacrosse 2011 Blue Team from 2008-2010 (PA)…US Lacrosse High School All- American Honorable Mention 2010…US Lacrosse U19 National Team Tryout Pool…Women’s Division National Tournament-NJ South 2009 & 2010… Newark Star Ledger All Prep team…Trenton Times 1st Team All Area…Trenton Times 1st Team All Prep…Mercer County Coaches 1st Team All Prep…NJISSA All Prep 1st Team…Mercer County Tournament Champions 2010… Also started all four years in goal for the Princeton Day soccer team…Princeton Day Lacrosse Co-Captain and Soccer Co-Captain during her senior seasons.  

Sara Pickens Doran grew up playing lacrosse in Princeton. She played at Princeton High School before heading off to Northwestern University to play under Cindy Timschal. She has coached at both the High School and Middle School levels, most recently as the Princeton High School Freshman Lacrosse coach and 7/8 PG Lax Select Team Head Coach.

Jacque McDevitt: McDevitt is the current Assistant at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA. She is a 2006 graduate of Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus where she was a three year letter winner for the Blackbirds defense.

Previous coaching stints include Assistant Coach at DI Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and DIII Union College in Schenectady, NY. 

McDevitt’s previous position to Occidental was deBeer Lacrosse Brand Manager where she handled Team USA and Team deBeer Collegiate programs.

Jessica Shegoski:  A two year varsity letter winner, Jessica is a starting defensive midfielder at Muhlenberg College. She was third on the team for draw controls this past season. She played her high school lacrosse at Montgomery High School where she was as three time letter winner, a team captain, and an all-conference honorable mention. She is an economics major with a concentration in finance with a history double major.
